The CCACE Academy

At the Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology we aim to make our research as accessible to as wide a range of people as possible.

To achieve this we have produced a number of materials to help others understand issues related to cognitive abilities, cognitive ageing, and cognitive epidemiology. These include accessible publications, seminars, public events as well as our academic research training program.

Publications

In addition to the many empirical articles we publish, we also prepare a wide range of articles on cognitive ability, cognitive ageing, and cognitive epidemiology that provide overviews, reviews and critical commentaries of these topics.  These are prepared for a range of audiences from interested lay people to practitioners and researchers in other areas. Please click here for a full list of available publications.

Public Events

CCACE engage in a number of public activities, including seminars, interdisciplinary groups and other events. These range from our CCACE seminar series and annual research days, through to art exhibitions and theatre productions.  The goal is to engage as wide an audience as possible in our research and debate about the important issues of cognitive decline and ageing. To find out more about future such events see our "News and Events" page, or sign up to our newsletter by e-mailing Mrs Denise Munro at ccace@ed.ac.uk.  You can also follow us on Twitter (@ccace).

Training and Resources

We run a number of teaching and training courses in cognitive ability, cognitive ageing and cognitive epidemiology.  In addition we provide useful guides, resources and CCACE software available to download for free or a donation.  See our "Students & Training" page for more information.

Postgraduate Opportunities

We have funded PhD studentships in cognitive ageing and cognitive epidemiology in previous years, and also ran an MSc module entitled Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology as part of the "Psychology of Individual Differences" MSc programme at the University of Edinburgh.
