Work Placements

For students interested in a future career in science, from 2016, CCACE is developing a partnership with the University of Edinburgh Sience Insights programme.  Through this programme CCACE will contribute to a packed programme of activities and experiences designed to give an insight into research in the biological and medical sciences.

Over the past 6 years CCACE has offered one-week work experience placements for 4th, 5th or 6th year high school students.  Students have experienced various scientific environments such as laboratory work, brain imaging studies, human psychological testing and computational work carried out across a range of departments including psychology, neuroscience, medical genetics and medicine.  We hope that through working with the Science Insights team we will be able to offer this kind of experience to a greater number of school pupils, while giving the chance to see a wider range of science.
