Acknowledging CCACE Membership and PhD Studentships

As a member or PhD student of the Centre please use the Centre affiliation and acknowledge the Centre in all your publications and presentations.  Suggested wording for acknowledgements, logos and PowerPoint templates can be found below.

Acknowledgements - Centre members

The MRC have recommended the following,

“The work was undertaken by The University of Edinburgh Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology, part of the cross council Lifelong Health and Wellbeing Initiative (MR/K026992/1). Funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and Medical Research Council (MRC) is gratefully acknowledged.”

In some instances, where you do not want this to detract from a grant that actually funded the specific work, you could use the following,

“IJD and ### are members of The University of Edinburgh Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology, part of the cross council Lifelong Health and Wellbeing Initiative (MR/K026992/1). Funding from the BBSRC and MRC is gratefully acknowledged."

Acknowledgements - Centre PhD students

For our PhD studentships the following is recommended (important: the grant number here is different from the main grant number above),

"The work was supported by a PhD studentship from the The University of Edinburgh Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology, part of the cross council Lifelong Health and Wellbeing Initiative (MR/L501530/1). Funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and Medical Research Council (MRC) is gratefully acknowledged.”
